From Pause to Progress: How Ruvick Manages Two Projects at Once
Dalawang project. Sabay-sabay. No pauses needed.
That's where Ruvick is now. But it didn't used to work that way.
“Talagang pahirapan talaga. Honestly speaking lang, hindi naman madali. Lalo na pag magsabay-sabay.”
Ruvick runs a design and build firm in the province. Every time a large project needed materials, he had to wait: finish a smaller project first, collect that billing, then use it to fund the bigger one. If the timing didn't line up, the large project stopped for two to three weeks.
“[Dati, tumitigil] talaga [yung malaking project] ng mga around two to three weeks. Dito muna kami sa maliit [na project]. Pero sa ngayon, pwede na namin masabay.”
The turning point was an evacuation center project. Specialized, made-to-order stainless materials were not in the original plan, but the client wanted them. Ruvick needed to move fast. He turned to Jia, uploaded his receivables, and had the materials delivered within a week.
“Kung wala si Jia, ewan ko kung natatapos yun na maaga.”
What surprised him most wasn't just the speed. It was how simple the process was. Coming from the province, he was used to doing everything in person—visiting offices, submitting paper documents, and waiting weeks at a bank just to find out if a loan was approved.
“Lalapit kami ng bangko, tatakbo pa yan ng mga ilang weeks, or minsan buwan-buwan para maka-fund kami. Pero nung pumasok si Jia, madali lang ginagawa.”
Jia was different: you could quickly upload everything online.
“Hindi ko inaasahan na uupo lang. Madali lang pala. Pag may receivable lang ako, lapit lang ako kay Jia.”
Now both projects run at the same time. No more stopping. No more waiting for one billing to fund another.
Ruvick's Advice to Other Contractors:
“Pag ginagawa [niyo] ng mabuti yung trabaho ninyo, tapos may upcoming kayo na receivables, dito kayo lalapit. Mabilis lang, hassle-free, pwede pa sa cellphone.”
